İlyas Bey Social Complex

The İlyas Bey Mosque and the group of madrasah and bath structures next to it, belonging to the Anatolian principalities period, are a unique social complex located within the archaeological area of Miletus. In the area where the social complex is located, there are also ruins of a villa with a bath and various buildings dating back to the Byzantine period, which were unearthed in recent months. The complex, positioned at different angles within the grid plan of the city of Miletus, planned by Hyppodamos, the famous architect of the ancient Greek world, reveals clues of the unique complex world of the Middle Ages. The centuries-old rare trellis trees located around the buildings are the most spectacular pastoral elements of both mystical and earthly environment.
